I want to write a post-election reflection, but I’m not ready yet

I’m working a bit late today, and then have to be in early tomorrow for another very full day. I’m pretty tired from being up past 1 this morning, too. But soon I hope to write about some of the local ballot initiatives as well as some follow-up to the national election.

But until then, let me at least say this:

Barack Obama gave a speech this morning that made me proud to be an American. He is the sort of leader we need, and while I don’t think the last four years have been perfect, I am pretty darned pleased with him.

And I am similarly pleased that so many of my brothers and sisters in Christ have been calling for prayer and support today for our president. Regardless of your politics, Obama is part of our family and we should love and support him just as we do everyone else in the Church.

We still have a lot of challenges ahead and a lot of hard work. Be praying and be thinking about how you can be engaged and active with our nation.

For our future: 1 Corinthians 13:13

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
